Seaberry Project

The design brief for the Seaberry Project stipulated a home that combined elements of relaxed coastal living arranged in a compact, lightweight and low maintenance form. The resulting design is a realisation of balancing optimal energy ratings with economies in construction into a home that functions as an exemplar of mainstream, environmentally sustainable design that’s affordable, cutting edge and functional.

The material palette is reflective of the site and surrounding context, responding with honesty to the rules determined at the outset. Whilst this house is modest in its intentions, it successfully demonstrates that sustainable living can be achieved by balancing the attainment of high energy ratings and key building material selections with affordability.
